ACCESS CONTROL OVERVIEW

Access control is termed as the ability to permit or deny, the use or entering of a particular resource or area, by a particular entity. Essentially, it determines who is allowed to enter or exit, where they are allowed to enter or exit, and when they are allowed to enter or exit.

An access control system can form part of a CSS (Centralized Security System), where it can used in conjunction with other functions such as CCTV and Intrusion Detection, or as a system on its own.
